Sore Thumbs Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Crazy. I can buy beat up ones and have custom painted and have less than $25 into one.
Members Jozark Posted January 30, 2014 Members Posted January 30, 2014 Sore Thumbs is so right!!! I have been buying the undesired colored wiggle warts for the last 3 years. Most of them for under $20, and a lot under $10. I take the hardware off and send them to either Tim Hughes or Dwain Batey of Baitwerks and have them paint them. On the high end it might cost me $40 or so. Better than $150
Sore Thumbs Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 No disrespect to anyone but Dwayne Batey is as good as anyone I've ever seen and he he is local. I know Gerald Swindle has used him before.

You won't find a more talented painter and I mean NO DISRESPECT to Mr. Hughes or others. Dwayne's paint jobs are just insane. I would be lying if I didn't say I didn't want to throw the warts I got back from him because they are truly artwork.
Sore Thumbs Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 You should see his place. You would not believe how small it is. I drove by it several times before I found it. It's a shed beside his house.
Quillback Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Thanks for that picture of the MO Craw Thumbs. Never seen one before.
Alex Heitman Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 To me the MO craw looks a lot like the v37 with just a gloss finish
dtrs5kprs Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 MO Craw...Lighter sides, green back and squiggles. Have yet to figure why that is better. Have some V37's that are very close except the back. Also see some natur. red craw with the greenish backs. Mostly throw V63 or V029 (flo red / black back/ black squiggles) myself.
Alex Heitman Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 I bet if you leave a few in the sun for a while you could get a close looking or unique looming craw. I've heard several people sunbathe their cranks.
