My grandson who is a senior in High School has decided this is the year he needs to experience opening day at Bennett. I hope my fingers don't fall off. We'll be there come hell, high water or a little bit of ice in the guides. Low of 22, high of 34. Sounds lovely.

JR, the big boss, has advertised,"lied", on kjel radio, that MM, little boss, will release 100 lunkers for the opening. I would bet the crowds will be backed up all the way to the live bait isle of the park store. On your way out you can glance across the road and marvel at the new, "never run out of 8 inch fish", multi million dollar rearing facility. Now be aware, that according to park superintendants, a lunker trout, is any trout that has attained the remarkable length of 18 inches. Quite the milestone for bssp, but far from being a lunker according to the weight standard of 3 lbs. Take a glance at the lunker board before and after you start your day of fishing. Hope U early birds have fun today try and stay warm. i am thinking about coming down sometime mid week and give it a shot. WHat flies are working i normally fish up by the Spring.
