jay bird Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Love the black lights on the boat it is great to not have wires all over the boat just hit the switch and fish. You can not cast far enough to not see your line it really lights it up.
jay bird Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks guys..it's a 1996 202 with an 05 HPDI. Jay Bird you got a great looking rig as well. I've been considering the bluewaters...they look great! So what size engine is that?? And what speed are u getting.
balsabee Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 So what size engine is that?? And what speed are u getting. It's a 200hp..full tank of gas, all gear and just me 69.5 gps. After the 8" rapid jack was put on the same load with just me I ran 72 gps. This summer it's getting a 225 hp Ecu. The 202 is an absolute dart. I'm hoping to make it at least a 275hp with a phase2 kit from Hydro tec.
jay bird Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Have a buddy with the same engine on his triton it has been bullet proof. That thing is going to move upper 70s easy
dtrs5kprs Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Only have three projects...fix a tiny chip in gel (not a problem, just the kind that bugs you) but too cold now, fix the front trim switch, correctly re-connect the fuel gauge that I inadvertently unhooked and hooked up wrong while tracing the trim switch wire That was two years ago, but it has not stopped me from catching fish, and figure there is an even chance of making it worse, given the horrific wiring schematics that come with bass boats. Not overly worked up by any of it.
J-Doc Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I made a deck extension for my ride. I simply cannot believe how much better the boat fishes. It's like a completely different boat now. The added storage and me using some simple/cheap plastic storage boxes (aka Tupperware) to organize all of my stuff has made a huge improvement overall. Here's a quick funny vid I made showing the result. It's light weight design (only 40lbs) but extremely strong deck has not slowed down my boat at all. And no, I'm not about to fall at the end of the vid. I was jumping on the lids to show how durable they are. :-) http://youtu.be/BDWlzx7CDfo Here's the thread I started on it Need marine repair? Pepe Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I'm trying to get a permit from the Corp of Engineers for a small on-board nuclear reactor that will power my space heater and melt the ice around the boat;)
J-Doc Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 As long as it doesn't pollute the water or create "FISHZILLA".............I'm fine with that. Melt away! LOL Need marine repair? 96 CHAMP Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 put a new dual pro charger in, new trolling motor batteries, changed all the aerator and bildge pumps last year, new water pump impeller, change lower unit lube, usual maintenance, check running lights, black lights, clean & wax, repack wheel bearings, had problems with idle last year, taking in to have that checked out, good way to pass the winter blues
J-Doc Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Had an idle problem myself. It was an easy fix. Lube the timer base. Finding the problem can be a challenge. Need marine repair?
