Champ188 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 C'mon now, how was it? Donna and I are going in the morning.
fishingaddiction Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Didn't go today Champ, but we came over this afternoon, so I am going out tomorrow. What is your game plan? I am going to check some deep locations with the a-rig, and the spoon. May throw the jerk bait if I can't get anything going deep. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Jason Essary Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Went to bull last saturday. Done great. All on rig. But in at tuckers I think is the name. 8 to 12 was amazing. Every rolloff had fish. fishingaddiction Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks for the info Jason. The rig was good for you. Sounds like main lake stuff. Your fish were fairly shallow over deeper water? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Champ188 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Hey addiction, glad to hear we won't be the only souls on the lake. We're planning to launch at Eagle Rock. Think I'll start right around there and throw a jerk bait (smaller deep-diver, like a Jackall Squirrell). Will concentrate on outside channel bends that touch bluff banks, and also bluff ends. Timber is a bonus. Donna will no doubt throw a jig behind me. She picked up some really nice-looking green/orange hair jigs today at our local tackle shop. I will also throw a green pumpkin Yamamoto 5-inch grub a bit. There's usually a decent grub bite starting about now but you gotta drag it slow.
fishingaddiction Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Sounds good Champ. Like the lure choices and locations you mentioned. I will also have the grub rod ready. I plan to trailer to hwy H ramp and go up lake from there. Our house is not far, and been wanting to fish that area for a while. Several good rolloffs as well as bluff ends. Don't let Donna out fish you too bad. Look forward to hearing how you did. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Moswimb8slinger Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Hit BSL today from powersite to shadow rock looking for the walleye, but no takers. I have been able to find the bass on TRL (from the bank) since the last cold snap 3 weeks ago
Jason Essary Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Addict. Most fish came out of 12 to 20'. Boat in 30 or deeper on steep sides. Essary Construction - Honest work for honest price Custom Construction and Remodeling Call for free quotes (417)338-6418 http://essarycustomhomes.com/
fishingaddiction Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks for the detail Jason. I had planned to go fishing this morning, but launch ramp and water was froze. Hundreds of small shad were frozen in the ice. Big time shad kill going on right now. Guess I'll wait for better conditions. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
dtrs5kprs Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Well at least they will have to compete for food this spring. Assuming it ever gets here. Snowing again here, in earnest.
