Nope. My goal when cleaning fish is to get the meat off the fish and into my mouth as quickly as possible. Taking an extra step to expedite the fishes soul to heaven just doesn't seem that important to me.

I sometimes do this cool little dance though, but that's because I have to pee and wanna get done cleaning fish before I stop to wash my hands.

I don't stab them in the head, but I do rip their gills to drain as much blood out of the body as possible before filleting. Rapid blood loss for a death can't be too horrible of a death.

I too have used the gill cutting method in the past from time to time. As you take the fish out of the live well, just snip their gills with scissors. They will usually die in 5-10 minutes.

I will just dip them all out of the live well and throw them in a five gallon bucket with no water and go to work on them. If I really get after it I can probably fillet 4 white bass a minute. With an electric knife

I have their sides off and thrown back in the water and the big carp and cats and turtles tear them to pieces before they know what hit-em.When i turn the water on at the fish cleaning station all the fish and turtles are there waiting for their dinner.

I like to let my 7-yr-old carry them around and fly them through the air so they have a chance to experience new things before going on to fish heaven. Some have had a chance to swim in a bucket. Others have gotten to enjoy a kiddie pool with my 7-yr-old and 2-yr-old sons at the same time. Once a channel cat got put in the kiddie pool and was caught several times with hot dogs before finally finding his way into the frying pan.
