Moswimb8slinger Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I've used them on and off in the 2 yrs or so, and i don't do to well with black bass on them. But the whites sure do like it. My younger brother had a double where both fish cleared 16 inches. I've sat in my kayak in the mouth of swan creek, and while other guys were winding them as soon as they hit the water, i was letting mine hit the bottom and then starting the retrieve, i ended up catching 3 to another guy's 1 doing that, and had a couple of small doubles (12-13 inches each)
Sprint21fter Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The best bite is during early pre-spawn (winter)- pre-spawn(early spring), however you can establish a solid pattern with it during the warmer months if you get the right conditions.
Old plug Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 the thing is be adaptable. Its called finding the pattern. I go along with Doc. I bet you could troll it on down riggers. That is how it was born in the salt waters. Shad run in schools usually large schools and thats it the more the merrier. If there is a reason i would imagine it has to do with a change in forage diet.
