LittleRedFisherman Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Smallie, I wasn't offended at all, i'm talking about the folks up way off that watch this and actually think we live like this here. The problem with texts and words is you can't always read what somebody is saying and there emotion. I think it's hilarious and don't know these folks, just of them as I go to Hardy a lot in the summer. The brain cell thing guess wasn't worded right I guess, sounded bad. I've heard the Arkansas jokes all my life, even from folks that live 3 miles from here across the river in the bootheel, that have the exact same accent I speak with..lol, sometimes it gets old, but it's harmless I've learned over the years. Nothing personal towards anybody, sorry it sounded that way. Just posted this because some will find it funny or interesting. After watching this when it comes on I may be disgusted myself.... I do know one of the fellows a little bit as he had a business there I went to, a great guy.. I know enough about it that it's not reality.....lol There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
fishinwrench Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I seriously doubt that folks will suffer one iota from this show if the Hardy, Ar. folks play their cards right and put their alleged intellectual egos aside for a bit. But an area full of nitwits too "proud" to be called hillbillys, and treating the film makers as such will screw the pooch before it ever gets off the porch. Quit acting like you aren't flattered, and play your part!
Quillback Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm grabbin' my straw hat and one-suspender bib overalls and heading to Hardy to see if I can get me a part in that series. Pays more than running shine from what I hear.
ollie Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I think old Crowbar had something to do with making this. Maybe he put up some of his own money or he hit the producers up for the show. You know it is all scripted. My bet is he had something to do with it as far as the concept and bringing in the film crew. JMO "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

It amazes me that people are surprised that these shows are scripted? My DIL sent me a site claiming that he had inside information that Duck Dynasty was not only scripted, but that they didn't always wear beards and that they lived in a big house! The site wanted donations to continue his expose of all these sites. What can I say? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Yeah I think Ollie is right. I think the Discovery channel was up interviewing people a while back, kind of like a casting call. I bet old Crowbar is making some bucks off this show, should it prove to be popular like Duck Dynasty, he'll be a rich man (if he isn't already).
