Call Bob Luellen @ 1-800-339-1235. All they do is boat ins. Saved me over 1/2 and better coverage. I had always had American Family and was amazed of how my policy was full of holes and fine print.

My bass boat, two trucks, and house were all insured with one major company. I later found out that my bass boat was not covered during any type of competition (company fishing tourney, Friday night bass tourney, bass club, benefit crappie tourney, etc.). I had to switch my bass boat to another company. Better ask your new agent about this. I'm sure there are boaters out there you think they are covered. I'm not going to mention which company, because I don't want trouble.

State Farm dropped me after 2 claims in 4 years. Even worse my agent didn't even tell me nor did State Farm send me anything. I was uninsured for 6 months and didn't even know. Fortunately nothing happened.

State Farm did the same to me. 2 claims since 06 a theft and a lower unit, i did myself $900.00 . My agent said he tried but I dont think he tried as hard as he could have.24 years everything I have was insured by them. I went with Nationwide, Easy to use and they would insure my boat only. I found them to be cheaper and offer, electronics and tackle coverage as well. Once the mad factor was over of being canceled and getting my new insurance I found out State Farm was screwing me on my boat. I got better coverage for about the same money. All was done over the phone and they have followed up and been very good to deal with.

Wow - At least I don't feel like the Lone Ranger anymore. Same thing happened to me, decades long State Farm on house, cars, boat. 1 claim on the boat and they dropped it. I'll be calling World Wide Marine this month.

Thanks for all the help. My agent also said she would appeal. But, I am definitely going with someone else on the boat. The moral to this story is don't back your trailer down the Shell Knob bridge ramp when the lake is 10 feet low and your Buddy says "You're OK, OK keep on comin." That concrete gets awfully soft toward the bottom. The tire dropped off till the trailer frame stopped it. We pulled it up, moved over, launched and went fishin anyway of course. However, the reloading did not go so well. Flat tire, collapsed trailer frame, dented boat and tow truck ride back home. And thus a claim to State Farm for reparations and subsequent cancellation.

SF did that to me after 40 yrs, I cancelled everything and changed, no such thing as a good insurance company anymore but for a boat I would take gabes advice, Bob Luellen and WorldWide Marine. His number is 517-627-8080
