Members MattS Posted February 17, 2014 Members Posted February 17, 2014 Seems like I have done surprising well on dries this winter too.
Geoff Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Ah, so you are on this forum as well,I remember this fish from NAFF "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
stlfisher Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Great fish. Been doing well on dry flies down there this year...
Gavin Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Looks like a Peerless and some bamboo too. Hard to top one like that on a dry.
fishinwrench Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Nice! The X-Caddis is a hero fly, I love that thing. It ain't half bad "nymphed" either.
Members jgentile Posted February 18, 2014 Author Members Posted February 18, 2014 Very nice! 17"? I never measured, good guess I was figuring 16-18 Looks like a Peerless and some bamboo too. Hard to top one like that on a dry. I wish it were a Peerless, unfortunately the reel is a Chinese knock off. The rod however is one sweet piece of fiberglass. (three pieces actually, lol) Haven't made the jump to boo yet. Nice! The X-Caddis is a hero fly, I love that thing. It ain't half bad "nymphed" either. Easy to tie, nice profile on the water. I never nymphed it, but sometimes I tie them with a shorter wing and no floatant as a cripple/emerger.
