Old plug Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I never seen one with screw on weights. I just use little lead stick on strips on all my stuff. They are real handy. I do not always use it to suspend. I offent use it the slow down how fast it rises. I am really sold on those Little strips.
Flatbottom Boy Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Old plug, what are these lead strips you speak of? You have my curiosity.
DChance Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Storm suspend strips. they also make suspend dots. I have used and they are nice, but one problem I have with them is that the bait has to be dry to apply them. so that comes into play when you are trying to adjust the bait while on the water. If the bait is wet when you stick them on, they will normally fall off. I have found that using the thin lead wire and wrapping it around the front hook shank work better. It is very easy to adjust on the water and doesn't screw with the action of the bait.
Old plug Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 that is a problem about the bait being dry. but i do a lot of mess ing with that stuff right off my dock where i can watch the reaction easy. I have found out that I can take,y finger and put it in a doubled over handkerchief and dry it enough where it will stick real well.
fishinwrench Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 An alcohol wipe does a good job of "prepping" before adding the strips.
Old plug Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 what kind of alcohol ?? malted , a product of the vine type, or a product of corn.
