John W Kelly Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Above. I stood around behind you all before moving over to the wing dam. The 2nd photo was taken from the gauge tower.
John W Kelly Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Johnny change your hooks to a 2499SPBL tiemco and your hook-up rate will go from about 65% to about 95% . I had the same problem with TBH midges and a guy in Colorado Springs hooked me up with those hooks. They are a little pricey but well worth the extra cash. Those are $.70 a piece! Good suggestion though. I'll definitely try them. Thanks!

John W Kelly Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Johnny I was right next to you on the Bridge at 6AM. I went on down the river later. Caught my heavies Stringer ever. oneshot This must be you then! We had a little conversation going on before the siren . Sorry, I didn't want to stick my camera in your face so you got cut off... Good talking to you.
NoLuck Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Those are $.70 a piece! Good suggestion though. I'll definitely try them. Thanks! They aren't that much. I buy them in a 100 pk. Seems like the last ones I bought were about $35.00 for the pk.
Terrierman Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Were you the guy with the go pro and mike with some white fur on it?

I previously calculated the price wrong...duh. I was looking at pack of 25, which comes out to $.45 a piece, not $.75. Were you the guy with the go pro and mike with some white fur on it?Nope! Different guy.
Nighthawk Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 2499's are all I ever use for my midges. I use size 14 which is 2x short, so they are equivalent to 18 in length. you can always tie 'em short, too, if you want to make them smaller. Hook almost all fish in the upper lip and easy to get out. Well worth the money.
