We actually ran down to rock away for a couple minutes.....made one cast into a lay down tree.....bam, 15in smallmouth. Didn't stay long but I bet if you worked a grub you could catch some smallies

I have fished taney since 73 and have only caught 4 smallmouth all 4 were from 2008 to date and all of them were above Branson. I have caught a few but very few smallies while canoeing upper Bull Creek. To catch one on taney is a very rare thing.

I'm headed back over to Flat Creek tomorrow. Will let you know if I find some whites.

What does your boat look like? Me and my son may come over tomorrow and try to catch something to eat. Small whites and crappie sound awful yummy.

Well I didn't think too much of the smallmouth at the time, but after hearing what you have shared Bill, wow, what a great fish! I did get a pic of it. I'll learn how to start adding posts to these pics. DD, keep us posted how today's trip went. Thanks!

Just got home. Found crappie, small mouth, large mouth, and spots, but no whites today.

We caught some whites up at asher's just little males on a vibrax last saturday just above the ramp
