Members stitch Posted March 6, 2014 Members Posted March 6, 2014 Are there enough wild hogs (if any) around Warsaw to make it worth driving 4 hours to hunt them?
Old plug Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 The methodist minister at the at the church in Laurie is a hog hunter. he goes out to Okla a couple times a yea. I doubt he would do that if there were many.
fishinwrench Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I kinda doubt it. I've only seen one wild hog in 26 years around the lake O/Truman area. Plus I know a bunch of coon and coyote hunters and they never talk about running across any.
Members stitch Posted March 6, 2014 Author Members Posted March 6, 2014 Ok, thanks. We dont have them up here so I was curious. Im a big bowhunter, and Im gonna do my damndest to get on some ground to deer hunt around the place Im looking at down there (assuming we buy it, which Im absolutely sure we will), that way whenever I tag out early up here I can try it down in MO aswell. Itd be cool to shoot a random hog, but I figured I wasnt that lucky!
Flatbottom Boy Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 One really great thing about Missourit is the National Forest and public hunting opportunity. No knocking on doors like up in Iowa. Mark Twain has thousands of acres at your disposal... I would just get outa there when the "Orange Army" invades.
ollie Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I live in SW MO and we have more than plenty down here! About a half mile from our property MDC caught and killed about 20 of them a couple of months ago. No shortage down around here. I have a quiver full of arrows and an empty freezer if you have a surplus of hogs you need thinned out ! Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.
Members MattS Posted March 6, 2014 Members Posted March 6, 2014 Doesn't look like they have a shortage of them in Texas....

Would you mind telling me where you live, or closeby where I could get into some hogs? PM would be fine to.
ollie Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Currently we are not letting anyone hunt on the land. We have the place rented out to someone now and they are allowed, but we have had problems in the past.
