jmes Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 The bite on Sunday was definately tougher than it was on Saturday, I ran the opposite direction on went south to the long Creek way, I had 9 bites all day and boated 6 of them with 5 keepers and one short. I weighed in 4 LM and 1 K for 11.91 lbs I took 10th caught all my fish on the same bank. Water temp was 40.8 when I got there and was 45.4 when I left. I tried to get the fish on a variety of baits but I could only get them on the rig. Well it looks like the weather is finally going to get better

If a man found a location that you could get bit, you had better just stay there and wait for something else to move up. Your thinking was correct. Excellent placement with 101 boats. When did you get your first bite? Lots of guys are telling me they just could not get bit early. Also that water up there really warmed up. Mine stayed pretty cool all day. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
jmes Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 Thanks. Your right on the bite being later in the day I didn't get my first bite till around 10:00, It was on a south facing bank and as the water got warmer I slowly got more bites. Your right about staying there and more fish will move up. i fished the same 100 yards stretch until I thought they were done before I moved on( which was about 4 hours). The first bite was in about 15 foot of water and before I finally left I was catching them in about 5 foot of water. It was hard staying there cause there wasn't a lot of activity but it seamed to be the right decision at the time
Sprint21fter Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Fished the AiA team also, and caught plenty of keepers but nothing over 16inches. Culled 3 different fish to achieve a whopping 10.17lbs. Was standing near Mark Fann as another team was talking for information and asked "if them fish came from long creek", Mr. Fann had a grin on his face and said they were "everywhere" fish. I don't think it matters to the Fann boys, this time of year they know where to go and do it year after year. Hats off to them and Mr. Busby, and Brantley. Competed against them in the Winter Series this year and have seen them bust big sacks since the New Year.
buddygr53 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Hey bill. What is your rate for a day of fishing. And do I bring my own stuff
Members Golf Pro Posted March 10, 2014 Members Posted March 10, 2014 I fished with Busby on Saturday and fished the solo on Sunday. I can tell you that both days were completely different! We caught all the weigh in fish on Saturday off one area mainly before 9:30 am. Sunday I was all over the place trying to catch a fish. I never caught more than one fish in any spot. It was the classic run and gun pattern. At 11:30 I had 2 squeakers. I made my last cull at 3:35 and left them biting. I wish I could go this week as it is going to get awesome!
Bill Babler Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Hey bill. What is your rate for a day of fishing. And do I bring my own stuff You can go to www.whiteriveroutfitters.com and find all my information. I don't speak to much about the guide business or solicit here, I just try and provide very current lake fishing information, for those desk bound and Winter weary. I will tell you and show you when I catch them and do the same without the show when I don't. It is all fishing and no-one catches them all the time. Thanks for the inquiry. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
techo Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Taking the Skeeter in for a checkup so hope the water warms up and reports change a bit. Highly recommend a day with Bill on the water. He even beat the jinx my friend and I have when we fish together. Tim Carpenter
Jacob W Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Past few weekends up the white river its seems like everyone has been playing ring around the rosie on these channel swings. I'd bet some of these spots get fished 10 times a day during a Derby plus the locals out there fun fishing.
Bill Babler Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Yes, thanks to me and Pete, I think we robbed the nest of its Golden Eggs. I saw boats on stuff of there I didn't even know existed. I think mainly just to get out of the way of someone else. Just way to crowded up the White that really cannot stand the pressure and is for sure not used to it. The White for the last 5 weeks has just been hammered. Mostly the reason being that we did not have a shad Kill. I don't believe it has been real heavy from Clevenger up Long Creek either. Most of the pay sacks have been coming from the Branson Bell up the creek. In the CPA and the BFL 90+ percent of the field turned right. That has become wrong, as the winning stringers and best bags have been coming going left. In the derby on Sunday of the 100 boats, the majority went left. I should have. As soon as the shad stop trying to die from point 5 to Campbell Point, things will get back to normal and folks will be able to spread out again. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
