Guest Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I've been researching the Native Ultimate 12 FX It's 20lbs lighter than the Jackson Coosa, but is stable enough to stand. The price is about the same. Do any of you fish from a Native? If so, I'm looking for feedback before dropping $1200.
Guest Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Nobody has bashed it yet, must be alright. Come on, yall beat it up like the NuCanoe idea!
ness Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Man, what a piece of crap. There -- hope that helps John
Smalliebigs Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I never paid more than $1099 for a Coosa??? and I like it for rivers....... I had a Native Watercraft Ultimate 12 and sold it on craigslist for $850 after using it 5 times. It is a similar style to the Ultimate 12 FX....if you can stand in it you are more coordinated than me....I will say this when you look at an Native, they look cool but, I just didn't care for the canoe/yak hybrid thing.....I have a OTG 119 Pack and a Vagabond for my canoe needs. I just like fishing off of the Coosa....some may not but, I do, it's like sitting at my couch on the river. The FX is not a sit on top yak so the two boats are way different IMO. I did have a Native stand up paddle board that was cool but, very heavy and really was made for paddling flats.....I sold it in Destin Fl a couple of years back.....Native makes good stuff....I just don't care for the yak/canoe hybrid thing....but, that's just me. My big problem now is getting time to go fishing with a four year old girl and a wife working fulltime and going to NP school.....I'm normally stuck being a daddy and playing at the playground or watching Doc Mcstuffin. Bass Yakker 1
Flysmallie Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I'm normally stuck being a daddy and playing at the playground or watching Doc Mcstuffin. Not a thing wrong with that. More dads should be happy to spend time with their kids. They are only little for a short time.

I certainly appreciate your insight. I will compare the Native to Coosa & the WS Ride 115
Smalliebigs Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 The Native & NuCanoe falls into this category? Hahahaha my dad sent me that pic...that's awesome....Native makes great rides....it would really be cool to be able to demo some of these rigs before you buy. I have bought and sold a bunch of boats that were not cheap I just didn't care for but, thought they were gonna be the one. Now I never seem to fish and have three canoes, a OT square stern a OT 119 Pack. a Wenonah Vagabond...also have two Coosas and I never get to use them it seems...oh and I have a 20 foot SeaArk in the garage collecting dust.......Ronnie your right I need to suck it up and quit bitching my daughter will probaly hate me before too much longer and just be sweet olde daddy....oh how our lives change....it just sucks living vicariously thru you fellas, hoping to go fishing.

I have 3 daughters so I know very well what it's like. It's easier when you can keep them involved in the outdoors. My older two have always loved it. My youngest not so much. She hates frogs. but she has recently taken up Archery so that's a big plus for me. More dad time!!

If you decide to sell a Coosa, let me know. I need to make a decision pretty soon. Maybe I can demo a few at OMTC.
