Anyone been out to the wild trout creeks (BS, LP, etc)? How are they looking?

LP at Newburg is flowing 114cfs right now, so I would say everything is low, especially for spring. That's the flow of both Mill & Little Piney cumulative for that gauge. I would assume everything else in the region is going to be in similar condition.

Wow... I would have thought they would have been higher than that.

I was at BSC a few weeks ago ( mid Feb ) and it seemed about normal. I don't know if it was from cold or what but man...there was NOTHING in that creek. Well, there was something.

I caught 2 like this, back to back out of the same riffle then back to nothing.

I walked down some more, finally found a school of minnows, then I spoked a 10 and 8" fish out from some logs. that was all I saw the entire stretch. So im think it had to be the weather they were somewhere else. I normally don't catch much there but I usually scare a lot haha.

Heres a shot of the creek

That run looks prime for a seine.

I kid. I would likely toss a Panther Martin, undressed, in 1/16oz and swim it with the current along those root wads.

Was only about 6" deep there and maybe 3 feet wide, camera angles are tricky ;)

Crane Creek is in great shape. Good flow and lots of hungry fish.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
