JamiePatterson Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Just wanted to formally introduce myself. I once went by the username Arkie Farmer, but hadn't logged in in ages. "Forgot password" function didn't work, so figured rejoining was easier than bugging Phil... Anywhoo... I love fishing the White and Tanneycomo. Was born in marion county (though left as a youngster) and spent many summer days camping and fishing the white river system as a kid. My fishing progression went from bait to fly to jig... JD and Jerry Dudley turned me on to jig fishing 16yrs ago and I've been ruint ever since . Have been on a sort of trout fishing hiatus the last few years as my wife and I have been raising up a couple little girls, but have dusted off my rods, replaced my 15 year old river boat, and been hitting the river as often as time permits lately. In addition to fishing and family, my energy is focused on our church, the farm ( I have a row crop opperation in the Arkansas River valley), duck hunting, and bow hunting. Farming allows me to have flexible hours in the winter, so hunting is a no brainier. After spending as many as 54 days afield in a 60 day duck season, I figured out that a commercially produced aluminum boat would never survive my idea of "normal"use. I began building my own aluminum rigs around 2002 - though time rarely seems to permit me to do much welding these days. I'll be watching the forum and look forward to joining discussions. Also, as permits, I'll happily contribute to what looks like a great fishing report exchange you guys participate in. If you see me on the river say hi. I love to visit (am usually late because of it) lol. I'll be the guy in the farm theamed ball cap running a sparkly (my 3yo girls words lol ) charcoal Topwater with a yamaha jet prop.

Members JD Dudley Posted April 1, 2014 Members Posted April 1, 2014 Hello there James! Will likely see you and Clay over there some this summer. Planning on overcoming the 4 year absence from the place I love. Can't believe it's been that long! Let's stay in touch.
Blazerman Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Welcome back. If you have pictures of the boat you built yourself it would be great to see them.
JamiePatterson Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks for the welcomes guys JD, call me and we'll meet up! As for boat pics, Ive got a few... if I can find 'em. Have built 16 or so over the last several years, however, having two little girls and building a house slowed my sporting persuits down the last few years. Here are a few pics: If I'm doing this correctly, the first is of a 2060 tunnel hull I built myself about 10yrs ago. Next is a mudboat I did about 7-8yrs ago. An airboat I built 4yrs ago... Airboats are awesome!!!
JamiePatterson Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Oops... first pic was a 2072 center console tunnel I built 5yrs ago... not sure where that 2060 pic is...
JamiePatterson Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Sneak boat I built a couple years ago. Almost 14' long with a 48" bottom. 25 Merc would pust it 35 with 2 guys! Built it and painted it in 3 days. Started on Monday, finished Wednesday and had it Redfishing below New Orleans on Friday lol. Airboat again. Has a Chevy LS1 @ 400hp. Thing would climb a tree! Everyond wondered how I duck hunted out of a posished boat, but it was easy -just drive drive it up into the woods or a field For a friend who duck hunts -still have no idea why he wanded it painted black, but whatever lol. 1860 with a "hunt deck" Boat im running now. 1966 tunnel hull with a 90 etec tiller. After I shot the camo I clearcoated it. Wish I had a better pic than this cell phone shot.
