Members Fishin22 Posted April 4, 2014 Members Posted April 4, 2014 Mr grandpa and I are going to fish a tournament next weekend and we have never fished there before. Any information would help!
Champ188 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 There are a lot of options this time of year but being brand new to the lake, here's one that might be easy to pull off. Find a 45-degree bank with chunk rock and gravel. Standing timber is a plus. The guy in the front of the boat can throw a jerk bait (Spro McStick in blue bandit works wonders) or crank bait (Wiggle Wart, Bandit 200 or 300 series) while the guy in the back fishes a finesse jig (Eakins jig in PBJ or watermelon candy with a green pumpkin Zoom Lil Critter Craw trailer is hard to beat). If one bait is getting bit hands down over the others, obviously you should both throw what's working best. Hope that helps.
96 CHAMP Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 that is why i like this website, very cool of you champ to help the guy out!!!!!
96 CHAMP Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 hey champ, was wandering if you mind if i send you a personal message, I am wanting some advice and info on a subject
motoman Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Fishin22, you can save a lot of time and money if you hire a guide(if tournament rules allow) even for just a half a day. - LOTS of great guides in the area, and you'll gain a TON of knowledge that years of trips down won't get you. - I've fished table rock for years; and see the same guys at our resort every spring. They spend a ton of money on gas, lodging, etc. and complain about not catching fish.........every year. And I've heard the same guys complain about how expensive a guide is. But, if they would add up the expenses everytime they come down; plus the hours they spend frothing the water for minimal results; a guide is a steal at the price! - When I first starting coming down to table rock, years ago. It took me fishing table rock for YEARS, and researching the heck out of it online. It took a LONG time for me to catch fish with any sort of regularity. In hindsight, Hiring a guide woulda saved me TONS of time and money in the longrun, and made those early trips MUCH more enjoyable. - Or you can just watch fishing reports here closely. - And read the BASS elite series results and articles from this week. Both places will be a wealth of info.
Bill Babler Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 MOTOMAN has given you several great tips. One of the best will be you need to watch the Saturday weighin tomorrow online. Do not miss it. The guys that do not make the 12 cut are going to tell you absolutely everything they can about W-w-w-w-w. They are going to give you lake sections, bank types and to a degree bait selections. Listen close as this will be priceless info for the next week or so, outside of the crankbait bite as it will go away the way this water is clearing. You just need to switch from cranking to soft plastics or a jerkbait and you will be ready to do the deal. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
