Blazerman Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 does it? i thought that is what he saId. bridge pier way in the back of the gravous and i thought he said 54. they were interviewing him on the stage and it was hard to hear. what bridge is back there? I am not that familar with the lake.
DChance Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 He wasn't in the Graind Glaize. He was fishing the piling way up the niangua near ha ha tonka state park. I was near Bridal cave ind it was chocolate milk. I guess the spring must have pushed some clean water in farther up the niangua. I heard the guy didn't know where the weigh in sites were and drove all the way back to PB2 to weigh it.
WHARFRAT Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 My condo is within sight, just south of the bridge on the Niangua, and it was pretty dirty all through out there.. On saturday I had to get just North of Bridal Cave to get into some better water, and on Sunday had to go almost to Larry Gale. Sunday afternoon, the wife and I took a walk in HaHa Tonka park and that cove was nice and clear. But you could see the change if you looked out towards the Niangua channel. Water temps was in the low 50's. The lake must have raised a little on Saturday night, because Sunday saw some junk floatin around. I guess the closest weigh in site was Red Oak from where I'm at. He travelled quiet a ways. But he should have money to fill his tank now! @lozcrappie
Jerry Rapp Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 a friend of mine got two decent checks Sunday. Chandelier rig.
nomolites Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I refuse to throw that contraption; regardless of it's track record-I just don't enjoy it. Most boats were tossing at least one that I saw on the lower end. Caught my fish on jigs and wiggle warts; just not many and no money fish. Water temps were low to mid 40s until after 3 o'clock. Back to walleye and crappie for me; freezer is getting thin.

Like I have said many times, threw one about 3 yrs ago, and on third cast caught one. Threw it about 30 more times and said this isn't fishing and haven't thrown it since.
Old plug Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 JERRY 30 cast with that thing would destroy my shoulders for a couple days, I am sure if It was 10 yrs ago I would be using it.
DChance Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I hate it too. But in the cold weather, if you aren't throwing it you are getting beat by it.
