Put in a Larry Gale about noon with my brother and had 26 crappie and 2 whites by the end of the day. The bite was not good at first but once the sun came out it picked up. Caught quite a few shorts and all the fish we kept were between 10.5 and 13 inches. Threw back several right around the 10 inch mark. Water temp showed in the mid 50s on both sonars. The bite was several feet off the bank and at times was extremely soft. All in all a great day on the water. The day started kinda dreary but turned out beautiful. The second pic is my brother with the first crappie of the day. He only fishes twice a year when he comes up here. He works for the railroad in Texas and is a team roper in his spare time. Love spending time on the water with him. post-15096-0-57684300-1396961351.jpgpost-15096-0-99574100-1396961280.jpg

I was told by a buddy of mine that they are catching some very nice crappie, using jigs and or minnows and close to the bank 6-8' deep, they were in the gravois up toward the dam area, jig color was anything blue, now that was last weekend and the water is pretty clear up in that area, back in indian creek they did not have much luck as the water was somewhat dirty, but as we all no things change from day to day, he told me to head to the lake, thought i would share the info, not sure whether i will make it or not. GOOD FISHIN

Thanks. It was a fun day. Went back today and did a little better but the wind was a killer. You are very right 96 Champ, the colors we caught em on yesterday isn't the colors we caught em on today. Yesterday we caught em on dark bodies with clear tails and today it was chartruse and orange body with a green tail. One thing is for sure, the next week should be getting really good. Good luck to everybody, it is a great time to be on the water.
