J-Doc Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 My vote is 65lbs 8oz. Give or take a pound. Lol Someone will have to do awesome for 4 days straight or have an unbelievable bag 1 or 2 days. I'm thinking 16lb average per day will be needed to win. Locals can catch up to 18-20lbs lately. So deduct 20% and you get aboutb16lbs. I hope it takes 70-80 to win but I don't think that's the case. This lake has had enough a-rigs slung on it the last few months that's the Bass feel like the British did during blitzkrieg. I predict a jerkbait, jig, creature bait bite. Need marine repair? Quillback Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Locals throwing the A-rig for those bags? I'm going to go a bit lower and say 58 lbs. 5 oz.
J-Doc Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Well, I didn't say they bags were caught on the a-rig. Just that people have been slinging that think like a crack dealer in the hood. Too many people think it's the majic bait. It can be in the right conditions but not every tournament and every day. You may be right after I looked at the weather forcast. Someone will bribg in a n 18-21lb bag Thursday though. Warm and windy and 3-day post front conditions. Should be a slammer on points and current breaks. If they generate some, even better. Quillback Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Not a magic bait for sure, but you take it out of the local tournaments that have run lately and you'll see greatly reduced weights. That will change as things warm up. I can't remember if the FLW allowed the A-rig last year on Beaver, heck I'll do a search. Ok, Christie won with 61 lbs. and change. Here's a quote: “My key bait this week was a Yum Yumbrella Flash Mob Jr.,” he said. “It’s a special rig. It’s more compact and has willow leaf blades on it. And, it’s tough. I used one rig and it lasted all three days. I never broke a wire or anything – it’s really the best one on the market.
