J-Doc Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Yeah, the flop-socks. What the heck?? Lol Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Fishin Hodge Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 54 pounds seems to be a real repeatable number for a four day winning weight. A local can catch 18 or 20 on a weekend, but that is one very fortunate local, for 1 day. 61 pounds last year was just unbelievable for Beaver to me and what little I know about it.
J-Doc Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 So far, Twitter makes it sound like they are getting their tales whipped. 11-14lbs puts you into the top 50. What I've learned from watching Twitter over the last few years........it's not BASSTRAK! LOL! Someone in the top 5 will bring in 15-16lbs. They will separate themselves and set themselves up to be in the top 50 and in good contention to be in the lead for the next 3 days. Need marine repair? hoglaw Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 FLW is a good follow on Twitter right now. Posted this iON video of Ray Scheide cranking up a nice fish....(and wearing flop flops with socks) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XisAlpi_ljA&feature=youtu.be Looked (and sounded) like a pretty dully colored wiggle wart to me.
Guest Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Looked (and sounded) like a pretty dully colored wiggle wart to me. yeah, thats very similar to my custom brown craw color. It might be a bomber crankbait, but its hard to say.
J-Doc Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Current leader (Thrift) has 16lbs, 2oz. If he can maintain that average for the next 3 days (doubtful), my estimate is on track. Spencer Sheffield has 2nd place at 15lbs. Definitely a tough day. I figured Greg Hackney would do well as he IS a jig master. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Mike jones Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Weights will fall tomorrow..less wind=less good fish. Don't think any of the top guys can sustain a 15 pound average for 4 days on Beaver without the A-Rig!!
Guest Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I think the weather is setting up good, tomorrow being the exception. Sunday could bring a 18lb bag. 14lb avg probably wins it. 56-60lbs There are bigger largemouth now & they love stained warming water. Thrift won a few years back, under much different conditions. He likes cranking upriver, but that won't hold up over the weekend.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Beaver is not a southern shallow water lake where the fish hold a steady pattern. 16 today could be 8 tomorrow on her. Today I would have been in the very back of creeks, tomorrow I would be in Rocky Branch area working over the bigger smallies, Saturday I would be up river looking to pea gravel area and Sunday with a front coming in I would be on chunck rock banks and transitions around islands. Just my two cents. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
