eyedabassman Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 It is for sure now that my wife and i will be moving April 30 and we will be down there May 1 > We can't wait, and we worked our whole life to get to this point! We love Table Rock and the area so much, and the people are so great! People are so friendly it just blows us away! I can't wait to fish Table Rock and just enjoy the area weather I catch fish or not! So what kind of bass fishing can I expect the first two weeks of May,Spawn or post spawn, summer patterns? Thanks,Dan
rps Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 What part of the lake? Makes a difference for the answers. Blue Eye semi divides down lake and up lake. I fish upper end, and by then the spawn is mostly done.
eyedabassman Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 I will be in blue eye very near point 5.
abkeenan Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I will be in blue eye very near point 5. Our place is in Blue Eye in Beardsley Branch and there will be a mix of both spawning and post spawn. Last year while fishing the OBTT which was the 3rd week of May there were still plenty of fish on beds in the backs of creeks and on the shallow ends of docks. There are always early and late bloomers in the dam area. Uncle about 15+ years ago caught a 8+ lb female LM full of eggs near our place in Blue Eye the first week of June. Some fish are late to the party I guess.
magicwormman Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 In a normal year you would still find lots of males guarding eggs or fry in the clear water. This year who knows...................but I think the big girls will be mostly deeper, resting from the spawn. The beauty of the Rock is that in May, you can catch pre-spawn, spawn, and post spawn all at the same time, depending what part of the lake you are fishing. My advice to you, would be to hire Babler or Beck for a day, it will be the best money that you ever spent.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 May=Redfins, tubes, grubs. Run out points, flat gravel, middle of guts/deep coves. Mix of all phases, probably still a lot of spawners this year. Ned rig or split shot will work as well.
brother dave Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 happy fishing I shop at the outdoor grocery store
rps Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Went out today, 4/12, and found new information. Look for my upper end post.
