Fished the morning, from about 0630 to 1:30 in the afternoon. The fish were hitting the jig pretty well early, mostly finding them on rocky banks in 5 -10 FOW. That bite died off later in the morning, but I was able to start picking them up on the Ned rig. Had another good numbers day, over 40 bass, but only 4 keeps. a lot of 12 - 15 inch fish.

Caught a nice redear on the Ned, I might have to bring some red worms with me one of these days, I haven't fished for redears or bluegill on the Rock, but there must be a bunch in there. They have to be one of the most under fished species in that lake, you hardly ever see any serious bream fishermen.

Water temps were 54 -57.

Talked to a guy back at the ramp who said he had a good day fishing a jerk bait, lots of shorts with a few keeps also for him.

Several times while fishing walleye on a Lindy rig I have caught awesome bluegill. They really are great eating fish. If I have a keeper walley in the boat that I intend to clean, from that point on I keep large bluegill to add to the meat baggie.

Quill...similar day at Kimberling. We were up to 57-59 here yesterday at 6pm, but dropped back to 54 (at least on my graphs). So it was an overall gain, but the am was slow. By late afternoon we were pushing 59 again. When it hits 57 the fish are going stupid. Only had 3 honest keepers, but many good shorts, and more little shorts. Hands are shredded.

All on Ned or shakey heads. Still can't get the horizontal stuff going. Will note the shad are moving, and so are the fish. Fish we caught Thurs afternoon were gone today.

Hit a couple of gills yesterday. Never know with the little rig.

That's a heck of a gill, I'd like to get about a dozen of those for the frying pan. I'm going to have to pick up some red worms and give it a shot.

I'm all about multispecies fishing. I'd give the bluegill a little while to get going better. Like a few weeks.
