Im pre fishing a tournament and would like to spend some time in the James river the 1st day of practice. We're staying around the Kimberling city area . What is the best ramp to trailer over to? Would it even save fuel by doing so...? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Great! Thanks a bunch for the advice everyone! My next question is I havent heard much about the fishing, water temp, clarity, etc up the james river or if its even worth pre fishing it for a tournament? The last time i fished it we did real good in the piney creek area but that was springtime 4 yrs ago....

flat creek ramp is good too, a little steep but not bad. fishing in flat creek a couple years ago caught a nice 6.5lb spot from the dock directly across from flat creek ramp. there is also a sand bar at pt. 15 that i have caught several good smallmouth.

Started at bridgeport at about noon, water 66 alittle stain, went up flat creek water a little muddy caught a lot on wart . Fished up james to ashers only 3 bites. Worked back down with warts split shot and floating worm. ended with 70 bass 11 keepers but 2.5 was big bass so no big fish but was a bad day for big fish. Hope this helps.
