Actually fished it last week. Water was pretty clear and there were plenty of smaller crappie to be had. Sorted through a lot to keep a limit, windy and hot the day we went, pretty well out of trolling motor battery by time we limped back in sunburned and tired.

Thanks for that report! I'm going to make it up there early June from Springfield. Please post some more reports if you go again! I've never fished there, but I can't wait! Hopeful of catching some big bass!

Anyone been to Hazel recently? Taking my buddy for a surprise birthday fishing trip at the end of the month who has never been there, would like to put him on a couple big ones. PM me if you don't want to post it one here. I'm a solid 3 hour drive away so I'm not going to be elbowing anyone out of any shared spots.

I live fairly close, but havent been on it in a while. The club tourney guys say the area near the dam is best so use that ramp. There are some nice timbered coves near the dam that seems to produce well and a good stumpy point near the west side of the dam that should have some fish on it. Last time I was there I had 4 musky bites so be prepared.

Appreciate it countryred. I've been there several times but like I said it's a solid 3 hours one way for me so it's usually a once or twice a year type deal so it's always nice to have a bit of a feel for what and where before I get there. Seems the muskie are doing terrific in that lake. My one trip last year my brother in law and I boated 9 muskie up to 42" and had several more near misses in just 3 days of fishing, only the biggest one was caught while actually targeting them though. Would be nice for my buddy to get one, he's never caught a muskie. We'll for sure be doing some bowfishing for carp too. There's some monster grassies in there.

Bluebasser I would love to hear how you did and what they were biting on. I would like to catch a musky and Hazel and Pomme de Terre seem to be the places locally to catch one.
