Members brianetz1
Well it's that time of year again. Heading down to Kon Tiki for our yearly family and friends fishing trip. Weather looks decent, but anything compared to the snow last year. I am looking for any info on Bass pasterns that you guys can give. Are they moving onto beds or just on their way up? Anything that seems to be working for you guys?
Goggle-Eyed
Well, if you would have asked a week ago, I would say they are moving up and it is HOT... After yesterday and today..... I am lost... On both Bass and Crappie.
Old plug
I do not know about other areas but we get ours in the late evening till yesterday. Then yesterday we had 3 boats sitting off the docks all day. They did catch a few out of my stall. I tend to think it was all the disturbance that put them down. In the late evenings we were not catching them on the beds anyway. We were casting out into deeper water next to the beds catching them when they rose out there. I and my neighbor have been doing this for years around here. They usually run bigger. A lot of patterns work for bass right now. I have been using a 8 in Zoom dead ringer rigger Texas style. weighted with a 1/8 or 3/16 oz slip sinker. Very slow retrieve.

Just so I know which dead ringer you're referring to, you're talking about the one with the smaller curly tail? The big dead ringer is my favorite night time bait down there
Old plug
The big dead ringer it is 8 in long. I do not night fish anymore. I only use the dead ringer in the spring when they first start getting excited about the spawn. I sort of move work it slowly on a 3/16 oz slip sinker. I guess it is something like jumbo finesse fishing. I got 4 keepers yesterday in about 20 minutes all right to get together around this one dock. I never had that happen before. All were between 15 and 16 inches nothing to write home about. I got 3 more today her if you want to count the 14 in Kentucky as well. Most of the bass I am catching by far or large mouth and about a foot long. That is a real encouraging sign to me.
Members brianetz1
Well, if you would have asked a week ago, I would say they are moving up and it is HOT... After yesterday and today..... I am lost... On both Bass and Crappie. well that doesn't make me happy.......keep any pointers coming. We leave at 9 on Thursday so a lot will change between now and then. ANy info is helpful, even if you point me to some good current reports. Most everything i am finding online is over a week old and a ton can change in a week this time of year
Goggle-Eyed
Early evening bite has been hot... 6 or so until dark, I had to work today and didn't get out until after 6. Talked to a couple of guys at the ramp headed home, they had a rough day. I was on fish most of the evening so that holds true to the reports I have gotten the past few days. Evening bite is where it has been!
Members BHowe
I caught some nice ones off the dock last night in about 6 feet of water and two foot down. I'm thinking by the time you get here it will be pretty good. I let all mine go but the guy on the next dock was cleaning his. He said they were full of eggs still.
