Members stitch Posted May 2, 2014 Members Posted May 2, 2014 Is it worth a mile or so boat ride for dinner?
Members stitch Posted May 4, 2014 Author Members Posted May 4, 2014 Ill answer my own question. Yes, it is, it was good, and cheap.
Goggle-Eyed Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Glad some things don't change! Haven't been there in about 15 years, and I live at the lake, just the wrong end!!!
fishinwrench Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Been at least 8 years for me. Back when Ben Johns was on the loose everyone there was packing shotguns, including several that were considerably more dangerous than Ben was. "The Bend" is not a place for the timid, or the easily offended. IOW, they don't take kindly to folks that don't take kindly.
Quillback Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I had never heard of Ben Johns, so I did a search. Also learned there is a website called "Murderpedia". http://www.murderpedia.org/male.J/j/johns-alis-ben.htm
Old plug Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 thing about that guy is he spent all his time in the woods. They say there was no better the real indians would have admired him. They walked right by him a couple times trying to catch him. someone who know him say he used to catch deer with his bare hands. He gave them a real merry chase for some time.
