Feathers and Fins
Launched at 6:30 at 12 bridge, Picked up 9 assorted fish waiting for Doc to get to the ramp, Picked him up at 7 and proceeded to torment him for the next 6 hours I wont post the numbers but it was as Lopsided as the Bama / Notre Dame game yes im rubbing it in lol... Phil don't post the above on the report please. We started out spider rigging and casting in 5 to 12 fow picking up crappie when you could weed through the small whites, hybrids and stripers. They really wanted the Bobby Garland white baby shad in a bad way, about 10;30 the wind picked up and I hooked something much larger and after some net fowl-up managed to boat a 25 3/4 inch walleye that went 7lbs on the scale. The bigger whites and hybrids decided to go on the bite at the same time and the Basspro XPS jigging spoon was putting the hurt to them ( also what the big walleye came on ). We decided to troll a bit and put a few more fish of various species in the boat and then Doc popped a very nice 21'' walleye, just before we left I hit another eye that came up and shook his head and sent the flicker shad flying! Oh well it happens. Ran in to a few other OAF members doing pretty good today, Jack It was good talking to you but I had more fun watching you trolling the up paddling. We left the lake at 1pm as the pleasure crowd was showing up. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Mitch f
Jigging spoons are one of the best bass catchers around! Great report! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
J-Doc
I learned a valuable lesson. His rear deck of his boat has a hex on it. That or someone placed a banana peel or a voo doo trinket back there. When I moved to the fteont, I started catching the same fish. Oh and 100% pure flourocarbon line added to the catch. I was using Segar Red Label and he was using another Segar type line. Made all the difference. Well that and fishing from the front. When I'd go to the back....nothing. Oh and the Bama/Dame reference was an understatement. I HEREBY OWE F&F A PUBLIC APOLOGY FOR ACCUSESING HIM OF FUDGING HIS CATCH NUMBERS. There Scott. I said it. You evil evil fish whispering human sane net. :-p~~ Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
J-Doc
I cannot testify to the so called 9 before I arived as I was not a witness to said fish. Lol!!! He said 7 and I was there before 7. I would have gotten there earlier had I had known. Oh and for the record, Scott was using 5 rods to my 2. :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. bfishn
Salute! Nice 'eye. ~7lb should be the mean for the '02 crop, maybe ~8 by fall.Could be a banner year for really nice fish. Casting or jigging? I can't dance like I used to.
Feathers and Fins
Jigging the big one, trolling on the others. The big one was a Male full of sperm, told Jason right after I cleaned it that is a great sign, if there is a 7lb male think of the female potential. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

kjackson
That's a huge male 'eye. Way to go, gentlemen. My skipper for tomorrow's trip (Lake Ontario) is on lakers in the upper teens, and maybe lower 20s. We'll see. The weather is supposed to fairly sloppy and cold (there is plenty of ice around). Don't mean to hijack, but I wish I was on Beaver. Next week, I'll be back... wc1063
Got the hot tip and the tormented text and pics from Scott, I had to go out and see if I can catch a few myself. Didn't get there til noon, by that time, traffic has picked up. End up with 7 crappie, only 2 keepers and 3 small whites, trolling flicker shad.
