Heeeey... I'm a newbie here, and have been reading some great post. I live out from Hardy, Ar. not to bad of a drive to Norfork. I go to HM alot to see my Dr. at the Va. clinic, and drive over that bridge over the lake at Henderson, and man it really gets me going seeing the lake.

I've never been on the lake, but I plan on doing some crappie fishing, and hope I can learn to walleye fish some. I have a boat, and I'm retired and can fish anytime I choose.

I could use all the help I can get, I'm use to fishing stained and muddy crappie waters at Grenada, Enid, and Sardis Lake, Mississippi. This clear water sure will a tuff one to fish no doubt, I have a couple planner boards I'll need to learn to use.

I think from my house to Henderson is 45 or 50 miles, so when I do come to fish I'll stay a couple days.

If anyone wantsto talk fishing I'm all ears....

A lot of crappie are being caught, but you'll have wade thru shorts to get keepers. Look for water with a little stain. Fish aren't on the banks anymore. You'll need to fish ant wood cover you find.

Thanks Ham for the much needed advice. I think you are referring to sunken wood and not standing timber? I've read there are blue

signs on the banks showing were there are brush that has been put for the crappie. Is this all around the lake shore, or just in certain area's?

Thanks again for any help....Gary

I don't care for the strippers and white bass, crappie and walleye is what I want to fish for, and maybe some bream. I'd like to find some crappie spots close to Hendeson somewhere. I probably will not go till about the last of the month.

I catch a few accidental walleye on Bull Shoals, but I've never caught the first walleye on Norfork.

I was talking any sunken wood. Yes, there are fish locator signs that loosely mark planted brush. It will always have fish on them, but I can't always find them. I rarely do well on the vertical timber. I'm willing, but it doesn't always have fish.

I would have thought Norfork had lots of walleye. Coming into the lake from Henderson is there any close by ramps and crappie fishing spots close by? I'm not wanting any of your honey holes or gps cords, but maybe point me in the general area?

Honestly, it seems like more crappie are caught in the spring further up the creek arms in the off color water. Henderson is more main lake. Pigeon Ceeek, Red Bank, Float Creek, Bennett's Bayou, etc

Norfork is blessed with a lot of ramps, so traier close to reduce boat gas used.

There is a walleye club in Mt. home, mainly a bunch of retired old men from what I've heard......They have monthly meetings I believe, join the club and I bet u could learn a lot about walleye's and catching them on Norfork......W.A.G.......Walleye Anglers Group......I think thats the name.......good luck in your quest!
