I am not surprised one bit, I have said on here numerous times I target those open water bait schools for Big Bass. It is not a 15 or 50 fish day but more like 4 to 10 on average but they are BIG and will win tournaments. You have to know the lake well to do it and put a ton of time on it, but the pattern holds true every years on those big bass in open water.

I do it with the XPS Spoon and Keitechs but see no reason a spook wouldn't work early and certainly a wart or DD22 could do it, but it takes confidence to sit in the open like that and hope for the few big fish to bite.

Jerry this is one case I would say he is. If he is targeting the same fish I am I have no doubt he is. Bank bangers don't relies what they are missing out on.
