Members Ehop8605
What are some recommendations for lures on the current river? I'll be floating Baptist to Round Spring over a few days. I am from Illinois and typically use inline spinners, crawdad crank baits, and rapalas in the streams and rivers around here with a good amount of success. I often use Joe's flies inline spinners opposed to Mepps in this area and was wondering if anyone had had any luck with them on the Current. I've floated the river for the past 12 years but not done a whole lot of fishing. Thanks!
Terrierman
Zig jigs come to mind first.
Ham
I have not fished the trout water section of the current river, but I am very confident that Zig Jigs would work. The other lures you mentioned should work also. I prefer the single hook on the Zig Jig both for the fish and for me. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Members jibro
Above Cedar Grove i have done well with really small crankbaits. Especially craw or minnow cranks. Once you get past the low water bridge we have crushed on them on Gulp Alive 3 inch emerald shiners. Rooster tails, rat tails, and white trout worms have caught us quite a few. After Akers start fishing for bass. 3-4 inch brown grubs and senkos the rest of the way. SG
