Members Kylekcmo Posted June 13, 2014 Author Members Posted June 13, 2014 Don't you guys ever study a map? 2014-06-12_20-27-55_416-1.jpg Alcorn is spring fed, and the upper end used to be a trout hatchery. Excellent structure. Lots of shelf rock interspersed with pea gravel, and several spots with good brushpiles. Now that does sound promising, Thanks for the info!
Members Kylekcmo Posted June 13, 2014 Author Members Posted June 13, 2014 You don't happen to know of any coves right around the 48mm that are spring fed do yah? Not that that cove is to far but my boat is slow so if I had a closer option that would be good. lol But I will make a trip to that cove soon. Does it hold much bait fish in the back of the cove normally?
fishinwrench Posted June 13, 2014 Posted June 13, 2014 Spring fed? No, but that's not the deal maker/breaker it's made out to be really, its the shelf rock that makes it sweet. The ledge and main channel flats on the north side at the 50 is a legendary white/hybrid/crappie area, and I'm sure a good number of blues have come off of it as well.

I will check that out this weekend. I know there is a spot around the 50 that is shallow way out in the middle of the lake and then drops off to like 50' on the south side of the channel. It is just before the lake turns and heads to the north.
