conorsixtakc Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 It just boggles the mind that one guy could catch and disfigure enough bass that two others (dprice and Dirtracer35) could catch 70-plus of them. How many hundreds of thousands ... if not millions ... of bass are swimming in that 25,000-acre lake? The odds are astro-freakin-nomical. How many of these disfigured fish are swimming around down there for TWO guys to catch 70-plus between them? Me and a buddy caught +30 bass last weekend between crabtree and masters, all with healthy jaws. Sounds somewhat localized.
dprice Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 If you catch one take a pic And give it to someone that will filet it. dprice Dprice priceheatingair.comĀ

We've never actually seen it--just one good, clear photo and one other, from dirtracer35--and beyond that it's hearsay. I believe them--perhaps the numbers are fuzzy, but there's clearly some kind of problem. The idea that someone could be intentionally mutilating fish is horrific. It's good that the topic has come up...anglers and agents will be watching this, and hopefully through that effort we'll get the issue resolved.

My observation if someone is intentionally doing this is: (1)They must fish a lot. (2)Fish all areas of the lake.(3) Must have a pretty good sucess rate in catching bass

Champ188 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Well said indeed, powerdive. You're alright for a darned ol' walleye fisherman.
Dirtracer35 Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 If you can't catch a bass on Stockton. Just go home lol. I don't catfish. But have caught some big ones. Don't fish for crappie or whites. But I've caught some giants. Don't fish for walleyes. But catch a lot of them. Doesn't matter if you have a success rate. You'll catch them regardless. You never know. Somebody may already be a suspect. The person/s responsible may be watching this. Anything is possible. The numbers aren't fuzzy. Just because after seeing dozens of fish like this makes a guy curious doesn't mean there's only one like this. The odds are high that more will be caught tomorrow. Many anglers don't use this forum and still catch fish..
