Sore Thumbs Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 You guys have got to check out the new Evinrude G2's. Radical looking design with integrated power steering and hundreds of color combos to match your boat. Comes with 5/5/5 Warranty. Pretty Awesome stuff.
Champ188 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Hope this works out better for them than their last two revolutionary endeavors. The Ficht project of the 90's nearly buried them for good, and the E-tec motors haven't exactly been a raging success either.
Pour Dennis Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 With all of the lower unit trouble the E-Tec's have had, I think I will stick to Mercury Optimax. Just my opinion.

5bites Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I believe the fact they have color options will make them popular. The thing I wonder beyond the hype of their numbers is what is the weight. Honestly I think someone needs to make a budget engine. Bring back the best sounding outboard made please, the mercury 225 efi! Slap in on a new yet old design proven hull and sell a boat just about worth the money!!!
Sore Thumbs Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Yeah. No telling how much these are gonna be. With integrated steering and a dash mounted computer screen to check how the motor is running. They aren't gonna be cheap. Time will tell.
rps Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Etec is great in the less than 150 range. My little 75 hp is an uncommonly good power plant. Maybe the new version will bring that reliability to the larger engines.
