Cindyjo Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 If your not using spoons you may want to consider doing so. If you are using spoons ... then you know what Im talking about. Caught 30+ last night not including 5 whites. I was right in the middle of a hugh school of whites when they decide to go after the shad. It was savage. I have never seen such a large school of whites. Looked like something out of a science fiction movie. spoons, spoons, spoons Good luck out there.
fisherofmen11 Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 When you say spook are you talking about a Zara Spook?
dtrs5kprs Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Must have finally warmed up enough for the white spoon.
Cindyjo Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 It was a spoon, not a spook. It was a kastmaster 1/2oz.
merc1997 Bo Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 spoons are a great fishing tool for sure. they will work great for shad chasing fish. i have seen times though that the whites would not give a spoon a look. this usually happens when they are chasing very small shad. in these instances, i have seen a simple rooster tail catch one every cast. don't forget to use that spoon on them when they are down deeper also. you certainly had a great evening of fishing!! bo
Old plug Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 That cast master is a good spoon. So is the bomber slab spoon, There are a lot of fine spoons out there. Champ that is about the only place i use spoons is bottom bumping. Around here big catfish will move in under whites and I am always looking for that bonus thrill that comes with doing that. Though I deliberately use spoons to catch catfish sometimes.
Sac River Jim Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 were the 30+ you caught green fish plus the 5 whts and if so i like to throw a shad colored weightless fluke right in the boil and twitch it while it sinks and HOLD ON!!!!!

Old plug Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Or the old gray roadrunner. I got about 100 of those in my locker in 1/16 and 1/8 sizes mostly for crappie fishing. I just use plastic on them. One of the best is the tiny fluke around here. It seems to attract larger crappie.
