J-Doc Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Navionics has it at 1ft and with Insight Genesis, you create your own map. Now HB has live on the fly map making which is cool. Surprised Navionics doesn't have this area scanned. They just didn't scan it for some reason. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! 5bites Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 So navionics has the lake at 1' but un-scanned sections?
5bites Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 The coverage of navionics just hasn't impressed me. BUT I'm talking about the lakes I primarily fish, Table Rock, Grand, and Stockton. I imagine navionics is a better card for certain lakes. The card I posted is the newest card for that region.
J-Doc Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 So navionics has the lake at 1' but un-scanned sections? Yes and no. It has about 98-99% of the lake. This is one of the few areas it doesn't show for some strange reason. They probably are not aware of the issue I'm sure. The really shallow water, they do not scan. Like less than 3-4ft. Feathers and Fins Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Two Words. Navonics Genisis Building your own extreme detail maps makes it all worth the Lowrance. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
J-Doc Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Two Words. Navonics Genisis Building your own extreme detail maps makes it all worth the Lowrance. HB just released live on the fly map making without having to upload to a website and have info converted. They upped their game to compete with Lowrance which is flooding the market. Smart move by HB. It forced Lowrance into having to react. Why should someone pay $100 annually when HB does the same for free. Lowrance will need to counter now in the forthcoming year to stay ahead. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! J-Doc Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Lowrance and Navionics are sister companies I believe. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
5bites Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I think it would be fun to play with the mapping but goodness, 1' increments is hard to beat. I may try it sometime though.
Feathers and Fins Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 The competition will benefit anglers greatly, but I always keep an eye on the silent competition like Ray-Marine they are really coming on. Lord help them all if Furuno decides to ever get in to freshwater seriously. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
5bites Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I hope we get more than two serious competitors for the same reasons you said fnf. For one the prices are just stupid, the operating systems aren't what they could be, and the options or changes that people have been asking for could be made. I know this is apples to walrus' but compare the price and function of the latest and greatest iPad to the latest and greatest graph manufacture of your choice. The potential in technology is amazing right now, even at a more reasonable price. They sell them though so....
