laker67 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Caught these today in zone 3 at bssp Chief. Caught maybe 10 or 12 with these markings, and maybe only 2 that appeared to be like the picture of the northern rock bass.
laker67 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 image.jpg A very beautifully marked Shadow. Yeah, I agree thats it. Really some stand out markings.
Chief Grey Bear Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 That one just happens to be darker at the time it was caught. I had one in a tank for a couple of years and you could practically watch him change. laker67 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Trout lose their camo, I guess others would also.
Al Agnew Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Interesting, Laker...I'd call that one a shadow bass, too. Chief, that last one is classic shadow bass...looks like most of those I've caught out of the St. Francis. I agree that it's fun to watch them change. I had three shadow bass in my aquarium for a couple of years. Started out at about 1.5 inches long and got up to about 4 inches before they outgrew the aquarium and were re-released into the St. Francis where they had come from. I had gotten them by seining a pool in the losing stretch of the river that was about to go dry...it did go dry about three weeks later.
