nomolites Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Has a thermocline set up yet at LOZ? Thanks in advance. Yes. Depth varies with location, etc. but it was fairly deep(20'+) when I was there two weeks ago.
Members ALLSTAR1 Posted August 20, 2014 Members Posted August 20, 2014 My brother was on the Gravois Arm last weekend for catfish and said it was at 8 ft??? Don't know anymore than that but he said any catfish below that depth was dead as a doornail so they set all their hooks at 7 ft. He said it was pretty slow. They fished two nights with 20 hooks on 11 jugs, using sunfish and caught 8 from 14 to 27 lbs. Good quality but low numbers. Checking them 3 times from dark to dawn.
fishinwrench Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 That sounds absurd, but before I call BS I gotta tell ya that a group of guys I know are catching all their cats out of 5-8' now. They are even finding fish (big ones) on hooks that weren't baited. They claim that the blues are cruising the flat and eating anything that moves or glitters. If they bait them they catch more gar than cats. Makes me wanna go hit the flats with the fly rod !
