I have a few spots on points or humps that I know hold walleye that are about the size of a house. Up north, people jig for walleye. Does anyone jig for walleye down here?. Im thinking about trying it with a quarter oz jig tipped with a minnow.

The walleye or spot is the size of a house? :)

If there's walleye that big in the lake, I ain't swimming in there no more... :)

I wouldn't be swimming either. You couldn't pull me away from my rod and reel. :)

You wouldn't be safe with your rod and reel either. :secret-laugh:

Vertical Technique: Gentle snap lift (no double snap like with a spoon as that shakes the live bait off) the track the bait back down in free fall.

Horizontal Technique: Basically the same but let the jig fall on a tight line, then reel in slack.

In the past I have run the electric motor barely moving and kind of bounce the jigs. Works well when you find the walleyes. Normally I BB till I find a pod then use jigs. But for Beaver you have to cover ground to find them jig fishing is to slow unless you find them. But it's my favorite way to fish walleyes because of light tackle

What they said plus cast, let it sink to the bottom, and then do the pull-and-drop just like a Texas-rigged worm.
