I have a remote control moterguide 55thrust trolling moter on my River Jon that wouldn't work today. when you hook to the battery, it either beeps all the time, or the moter comes on, but can't be shut off, other times it is just dead. Every time however when you hook to the batter, it always arcs then you hook it up. I'm thinking theres a short somewhere internally.. Question is, has anybody had this happen, and where to you get something like this fixed, if even possible?

I have had this happen twice... first was old batteries in the remote, replaced the batteries and all was fine.

Second was my "extra" remote was mashed in my tackle bag and kept turning the motor on.

Try "reinstalling" your controller. I think on that model you disconnect the power for 30 sec., then hook it back up, wait for the beep (or is it 4 beeps?) Then press and hold the on/off and + button simultaneously and hold them until it beeps again.

Oh, and of course make sure the battery's in ALL of the remotes onboard are fresh BEFORE reprogramming.

Check your manual though.... Cuz I've had a few naps and I'm not sure my instructions here are spot on.
