Quillback Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Thought the bite might have picked up after the cool, rainy weather, but it was still tough - caught 7 bass, 2 were keepers. Did not catch any top water fish, just not much going on topside. Almost all fish came off steep chunk rock or bluff banks in 15-20 FOW on a watermelon/red Trick worm on a 3/8 oz wobble head. It was good to catch some fish on that kind of structure, so maybe some of them are starting to move on to it. Water temp 80.
Champ188 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Who knows what this weather is going to do in August but I went to Grand earlier this week and caught fish on a swim jig around boat docks ... a bite that normally doesn't start (for me, anyway) until mid-September or later. Water temp was 81.
5bites Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Champ I weighed a fish Saturday caught swimming a worm around a dock. I usually start catching them around June/July that way. What was different thought was the fact that it wasn't a main lake dock.
