If we were sitting at the boat dock and a guy pulls a 12oz crappie from the livewell and then tries to tell us its a 4lb fish any one of us is gonna call BS on it. Light heartedly of course. :)

I've seen someone post that very example u speak of on here.

LMAO he has left it home lately and his ice chest... I do wonder if he found the banana I put in the boat yet though he hasn't been catching much for some reason.

A) You had a lucky day the first time I brought the fish counter. I only brought it because I couldn't keep up with how many fish was actually caught. I wasn't really keeping count but decided......."Hey this could be a handy tool". In reality, the "tool" was having too much fun saying the word "CL-IIIIIII-CK" when he pushed the button.

B) You troll with your line on the target and mine is off target - therefor you typically catch more fish. :-) I've noticed this occurrence a few times

C) I know my new boat like the back of my hand already. There is NO banana on my vessel.

The ice chest...........man that one is a puzzler to me. When I take it in prep for expecting fish, I get little to nothing. When I leave it at home, I catch fish. Therefor, it stays at home. The new boat has it's own ice chest and it keeps my beverages ice cold for 3-4 days and it's just a cheap Igloo lunch cooler.........not an overpriced Yeti. So it will stay in the boat and I'll keep catching fish. I have not zeroed yet on the new boat.

And what about the next 3 trips :)

Nathan, I didn't take the comments negative towards me. I hope he took someone's advice and took it to Hickory Creek Marina and called a game warden. Wish I had more time to be there to get more info but I had to leave them after about 30 seconds...as some of you know, we operate with a skeleton crew everyday and can't be away from our dept for long. The spear guys seemed more interested in filleting them while I was there.

I've caught 30 or so 20 lb stripers over the years. My largest is 28 lbs. I fished the NSBA tournaments for 3 years then gave it up because I was tired of giving my money up to the greatest striper fisherman of all time, Don Andreason.

The largest I've seen was the 42 that won the tourny at ouchita in 2003ish. I have a mounted 20(only for the memory of catching 2 at the same time)in my garage. The speared fish was more than twice the size of my 20.

I posted the photo here mainly because of the excitement in your comments about catching stripers...and maybe it would fire up some of guys to chase them more often. I've enjoyed reading your comments here for the few months I've been around. Hopefully, I'll be able to give a good report tomorrow. The wife are going after crappie at the bc of dawn. Time to grab my sharpie and mark my line at 20'.

And good for you for posting too. Thanks for your posts and I am glad there are others who enjoy catching stripers. I too was once an old grumpy fart who blamed the stripers for the lack of bass population but after reading many articles and research and now just basic knowledge of stripers, I can safely say.......they are not the reason there are lots of small bass in Beaver. For that matter, if they ate nothing but large bass.......how would they? Their mouths are not big enough to eat anything over 4-5lbs unless there were tons of 40-50lb class stripers in the lake. If that's the case, there would be very little bass and a lot of stripers. And as for stripers eating all of the forage, well that's not the case either. They prefer gizzards (I've see the remains myself in several stomachs) and they enjoy perch too much to mess with bass. I would like to see them clean out the abundant population of small spotted bass.

OK, off topic......

Thanks for your post and good luck with the crappie! Post some pics! :-)
