Members purefish Posted August 4, 2014 Members Posted August 4, 2014 Anyone know if it is ok to put in for a float at the Old Hwy E Bridge near Grandby? I had heard that there was no access there but when I drove by there was a well worn path down to the creek and it was not posted. I don't want to trespass but we are looking for a spot to float down to Cherry Corner. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
ollie Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 The old wagon wheel bridge? You might ask Chief, he fishes Shoal a lot. If that's the same bridge we are talking about, last time I was there I didn't want to take a vehicle down there. Of course I don't have 4 wheel drive and that was a few years back. Buzz might know as well. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
jtram Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Good luck at old e.... It should be an access to put in/take out but last time I pulled out there I had friendly words with the landowner while a cop sat and watched. Not a fun situation at the end of a float for obvious reasons I did the better part of telling him to kiss my a** he did the better part of being a horses a**. I was very respectful at the beginning and our truck was on the road not on his land. I will continue to use it but..... U may meet a new friend if you do.
Buzz Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 The last time Chief and I floated to Wagon wheel we had a similar experience to jtram. I haven't been back since, but I think Chief has floated that section since. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Big Brown Trout Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 hey purefish how long of a float were both of those? Let the summer of Carp, begin.
