It can be incredibly good there. Best when it's been up for a while and is slowly falling out. I have cousins and Uncles that caught triple digits in bass.

Ham - I had triple digits. The reading in my truck said 101F...not what you meant. I hear it's great. I've seen the fish heads at the boat ramp. I just need to get out there more. There are so many places to fish w/in an hour of my house, it's hard to fish the same places enough times to learn them. I plan to spend more time in the refuge this year...I'll be sure to update my progress. Looking forward to fall fishing.

F&F - I know what you mean. I have an aluminum boat and after a few trips decided it was better to take the yak. Fishing alone and in the refuge w/o cell service, the yak means getting back to the truck on time. However, this is the only place I've almost been run over by a duck boat. Got within 15 ft before he turned away...close call.
