Members Oak Walker Posted September 1, 2014 Members Posted September 1, 2014 Anyone have any advice on this stretch. I'm thinking about extending my lower float to include this 18 or so mile stretch.? Into my October float on the lower Buffalo. This will be my first time on the Buffalo so any and all advice will be well recievied. Thanks so much.
Ham Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 It's a beautiful stretch of river that is filled with outstanding vistas and is teeming with fish and wildlife. I haven't fished or floated a section of the BUffalo I didn't like though. We have been getting some rain recently, but look at flow rates carefully before biting off too long a section. Al Agnew Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Maumee to Rush actually seems to me to be a little easier floating in low water than from Rush on down. Reason is that there's about the same amount of water flowing but the riffles tend to be narrower, and thus a little deeper.
grizwilson Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 River has not jumped up, but the site says just below moderate.... http://ar.water.usgs.gov/buffaloriver/ When it cools a bit I hope to hit it myself. g “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
