duckydoty Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Had a good morning up here in Alaska for opening day of duck season. There was a little bit of fog on the water and the temp was 27 degrees. Got my limit of 8 ducks in less than an hour. 4 widgeon, 3 mallards and one pintail. Spent more time putting out decoys, picking them up and collecting birds than actual hunting. Had several flocks of 30 to 50 birds wanting in on the decoys this morning..... ahhhh, the smell of fresh burning powder on the crisp cool air with ducks and feathers raining from the sky is a great thing. Justin Spencer Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 You guys are killing me, gave my dog a haircut and bath today now waiting on some rafters. Maybe he won't collect so many burrs with a short cut! Feathers and Fins Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Marty, actually the first bird we ran in to I had to drop my buddy off up wind of him I came in down wind thought we would head him off.... As I came in he started walking away then turned and looked at me and came walking back while I stood there in the boat, guess he was looking for a hand out lol. All the rest were guns with the rain we left the bows at home but they will come out later this week. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

duckydoty Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I cant believe it. I got tomorrow morning off from guiding and my wife DD'sMCD has the morning off also. We have plans to be on the river by 6:45 am for the second day of duck season up here in Alaska. Hope to be off the water and back to the dock by noon for a fly out lunch in a DeHaviland Beaver to some where in remote western Alaska. Might be some rainbow or dolley varden fishing involved with the second half of the day. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
