I went out between rain falls for about two hours mid day. I fished the very back of a creek near HI in water 7 to 4 feet deep. I caught 7 with two of them small keepers. The good news is that they hit a top water and a buzz bait. All fish came near wood lay downs. Water temp was 81.

thnx rps for a good report. i had a couple nice buzz bait fish last sunday most were on a shady bluff/channel swing 82 degree water and were on lay downs up tight against the bluff. hope we are starting to see a fall pattern developing. i think the cooler weather the next few days will help a little.

Nice job, rps. They aren't quite as far back downlake around SK but are definitely moving that way.

Scott, slide your eyes to my avatar. That is a Tim Hughes painted Top Dollar with Daiichi Death Trap trebles and hand tied hackle and tinsel. I think that is a big clue about how I feel about fishing for top water bass. In a normal year I typically do not begin fishing for walleye until after I have been on the lake 2 or 3 hours. This year was abnormal and I have been starved for a bite on top.

Check this old one out:
