We gotta agree to disagree on this.

You don't see it from my stand point of encroachment & I don't see it your way from a pacifist standpoint.

In 7 years, nothing like this has ever happened.

I can only hope this property sells & we find a new place to live.

Encroachment?

Do you say that every time another house is built? No? Pacifist.

You ought to at the very least do like Phil said and check their story.

It could very well be you are right. And you could very well be wrong. You ain't out nothing but a little conversation.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. I just think you ought to check it out before passing judgment.

What has your neighbor said about them?

Sounds like they are happy where they are.

Free rent, a plethora of deer & fish along with the scenery. Who wouldn't like it?

I'm more annoyed by the fact that they setup right over the main deer trail. So my deer are taking a new route. Gotta find a place to hunt. Not what I wanted to see right before bow season. I've been planning to hang my new deer stand for weeks.

Not to mention the fact that he admitted to eating our smallmouth last week. It's a small creek & that kind of fish harvest will kill this stretch of creek.

You're always at the mercy of your neighbors. Only way to alleviate it to some extent is strict county-wide zoning laws. Have a zoning law where nobody can "camp out" on somebody's land for longer than a certain period of time. Most people in the Ozarks don't like that kind of idea, though. They believe they should be able to do whatever the heck they want on their land.

Always have to laugh at this story. County zoning came up for a vote a few years back in my county. The most vocal opponent of it, who screamed bloody murder about it, was also one of the most well-known and vocal religious people in the county. If it was any kind of "moral" issue he was all over it. So zoning got voted down, and about a year later, he found out his next door neighbor had plans to put in a strip joint. Kinda wondered what he thought about zoning at that point.

I've spoken to them twice & the neighbor once.

They promised me it was camping, not squatting.

They're meatheads, I will pass judgement every time. If they start feigning for dope, it would be easy for them to start stealing. For their dope habit.

It's all about respect & they know I'm trying to sell, they know I hunt back there, they know I patrol the area & don't tolerate bulls***

So, they know it's overboard.

There's nothing I can do to make them leave.

If I p*** off the neighbor by arguing over it, it starts a neighbor war. I don't want them to show me what they can do with their land. Likewise, I don't feel like fighting them over it.

It's a no win situation.

Or they are out there cooking in the woods. Call the sheriff.

Yes, I think this might be the best approach

Mitch,

I have to deal with vandalism every year.

In June, some punk decided to run over my mailbox & trashbin on the county rd. It was around $450 worth of damage.

The year before, mailbox again.

Year before, the neighbors allowed somebody to cut wood near the creek. They claimed to be cutting logs drifted in from floods. They got over zealous & cut down 2 mature elm trees that were 40-50' tall & on my property.

Trespassing, I've run them off myself, but I have to call the sheriff at least once a year. It's a constant problem.

The squatters have been warned.

I let them know about all these problems upfront.

I'm not a passive a aggressive type that waits until the s*** hits the fan. I deal with conflict head on. They know my stance. So it is what it is.
