Sprint21fter Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Fished a club tourney out of cow creek yesterday. Tough deal for me being a bank beater the last few months having to find certain things in pockets and throwing one bait. After three heartbreaks on 3 big largemouths that slapped at the buzzbait and reeled 5-6 cranks only to have them come off I ended up having 7 rods on the deck throwing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, finesse worms, wobblehead, jigs, and grubs I never managed to bring in a keeper. I caught several shorts on the blade, crankbait, and jig. Shad was scattered but when you found them they were in the back of everything. Schooling action has died since the last time I was out but I will blame the weather and post-frontal conditions for this one. Good Luck.
Champ188 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Thanks for the straight-up report. As Donna posted earlier, we had lots of fish but only one keeper Saturday in the Kings. It's just that time of year. It'll get better soon.
Fishrman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Fished the same tourney as Sprint. Had one 4 lb. on a blade early. After that it was pretty much over. Caught maybe 7-8 for the day.
Quillback Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Been there, done that with the buzz bait last Friday. They hit it but just won't eat it.
Sprint21fter Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Fishrman, hoped you and your boy had fun yesterday and you guys can fish with us again.
Fishrman Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Had a good time, plan on being back on Oct. 11th. See you then.
fishingaddiction Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I feel your pain Sprint. I fished Sunday morning mostly in Mill Creek. Started at 6:30, caught a keeper SM on the blade on my fifth cast. Didn't catch anything after that, called it a day at 11:00 am. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
